Regal color and expressive carving distinguish Baldassarre, the Moorish King, in this Dolfi Nativity figure from Val Gardena, Italy. One of the Wise Men who journeys to honor the Christ Child, he is shown wearing a crown-topped turban and layered robes while carrying his gift of myrrh.
Gold and polychrome hand-painted details bring rich dimension to his traditional attire. This meaningful figure adds an important character to a Dolfi creche and helps complete a Three Kings display during the Christmas season.
