Old-world Santa character takes an unusual elongated cone form in this Marolin ornament. Mouth-blown and hand-painted in the workshop, it features Santa's rosy cheeks, flowing white beard, and a bright red hat detailed with a black belt.
The tall, tapered silhouette offers a distinctive alternative to traditional round tree ornaments while keeping the look rooted in classic Christmas tradition. A lovely addition for collectors drawn to antique-inspired Santa decorations.
Since 1900, Marolin has handcrafted figurines and Christmas decorations in the small town of Steinach, in Germany's Thuringian Forest. Founder Richard Mahr was a trained figure painter, and his family business soon became known across Europe. It survived a factory fire, World War II and decades of state control in East Germany. After German reunification in 1990, the family brought Marolin back to life.
Then came a lucky find: the company's original papier-mache recipe, handwritten in chalk behind a cellar door that had stayed shut for years. Today Marolin is still owned and run by the founding family, led by Richard Mahr's granddaughter, Evelyn Forkel. A small team of skilled artisans still casts and hand-paints every piece using Richard Mahr's original methods and moulds. Each piece is a real heirloom of German folk art.
