Old World Glass - Diner Ornament
- Old World Glass - Diner Ornament
- Size: 4.25 Inches
- Hand Crafted and embellished with glitter
Diners often stay open 24 hours a day, especially in cities, making them an essential part of urban culture. Styling was borrowed from railroad dining cars, hence the term diner. Diners are symbols of American optimism and represent the period of prosperity in the 1950's.
Each figural glass ornament produced by Old World Christmas is hand crafted in age-old tradition using the same techniques that originated in the 1800's. Molten glass is mouth-blown into finely carved molds available only to Old World Christmas, before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The ornaments are then hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps to achieve the beautiful creations.
