Spooky Town by Lemax

Spooky Town is Lemax's Halloween village collection: haunted mansions, eerie shops, carnival attractions and lighted facades built in resin, with sound, motion and animation in many pieces. It is the more affordable and more animated of the two main Halloween village lines, and it is built to a scale compatible with Department 56, so the two mix in a single display. Lemax releases new Spooky Town designs annually and retires older ones; the 2026 range is available in stock and on pre-order, and animated buildings are typically the first to sell out.

Spooky Town is the Halloween village line that moves. Where Department 56 builds collector-grade ceramic architecture, Lemax builds resin haunted mansions, carnival attractions and eerie shops with motors, lights and sound inside them, spinning rides, creaking doors, cackling soundtracks, at prices that let a display grow several pieces a year rather than one. The scale is compatible between the two lines, and our Department 56 versus Lemax Spooky Town guide sets out exactly how they differ if you are choosing where to start. Fill in the streets around the buildings with Lemax Halloween village accessories, twisted trees, fences, pathway lighting and figures, and see the full Halloween village range for both collections together.

What is Lemax Spooky Town?

Spooky Town is Lemax's Halloween village collection, resin haunted mansions, eerie shops, carnival attractions and lighted facades, many with built-in sound, motion and animation, designed to build a lit miniature Halloween town.

Does Spooky Town work with Department 56 Halloween?

Yes. The two lines are built to a broadly similar scale and display together well. Lemax is resin with more animation and lower price points; Department 56 is ceramic and porcelain with finer painted detail.

Do Spooky Town buildings need batteries or a plug?

It varies by piece. Many lighted buildings run from a Lemax adaptor, while some accessories and animated items take batteries. The power requirement is listed on each product page, worth checking before you plan a large display.

Are Spooky Town pieces retired?

Yes. Lemax issues new Spooky Town designs annually and retires older ones, so a sold-out building is usually only available afterwards through the secondary market.

What does pre-order mean on a Spooky Town piece?

The design has been announced and allocated to us but has not yet arrived. Ordering reserves your piece from our allocation and it ships on release; the expected window appears on the product page.
