Wall Clocks

Wall clocks at The Christmas Loft include authentic Black Forest cuckoo clocks from Engstler and musical motion clocks from Seiko and Rhythm that play 18 to 30 melodies on the hour.

Wall clocks bring sound, movement and craftsmanship to a room. Our cuckoo clocks come from Engstler in Germany’s Black Forest, in weight-driven mechanical models where a bellows cuckoo calls the hour and battery quartz versions that never need winding. Chalet designs add animated woodchoppers, fishermen and dancers. For a different kind of music, musical motion clocks from Seiko and Rhythm open, spin or sparkle on the hour while playing 18 to 30 melodies. Pair a clock with a music box or browse more wall décor to finish the room.

What's the difference between a cuckoo clock and a musical motion clock?

Cuckoo clocks are German Black Forest clocks where a carved bird calls the hour. Musical motion clocks from Seiko and Rhythm play melodies while the dial moves.

Do cuckoo clocks need to be wound?

Mechanical cuckoo clocks do: a 1-day movement is wound daily by pulling the chains. Quartz cuckoo clocks run on batteries and never need winding.

Are musical wall clocks loud at night?

Most Seiko and Rhythm musical clocks have a light sensor that silences music in a dark room, plus a volume control and an on/off switch.

Can a cuckoo clock be silenced at night?

Yes. Mechanical cuckoo clocks have a manual silencer lever, and many quartz models switch off automatically overnight .

What batteries do musical wall clocks use?

Musical motion clocks typically take 2 to 4 C or D batteries, and quartz cuckoo clocks usually take C batteries. Check each listing for exact requirements.

Are these wall clocks only for Christmas?

No. Cuckoo and musical clocks are year-round décor, though many musical models include a group of Christmas melodies for the holidays.
